The GATA centre

Director: Tom Bridgeland

The GATA Centre was established in 2006, with a University of Sheffield grant. Its principal purpose is to support research activity and contacts between Sheffield and elsewhere.

The highest profile events are the GATA Lectures: these are short lecture courses occuring once or twice a year. They should be of general interest, at a high level, and delivered by a leading exponent visiting Sheffield as GATA Fellow. All interested are welcome, and details will be published here.

There will also be a series of GATA Visitors, and other GATA Seminars.

(The acronym stands for Geometry, Algebra, Topology and Arithmetic, and is intended to be inclusive of the research interests in Sheffield).
